About Speaker

Anusha Bhaskar, serves as Senior Software Engineer in 'Systems Management Engineering’, 'The Enterprise Solutions Group' of Dell EMC R & D, India. Master’s in computer science from Illinois, USA. and BE in Information Science from NIE Mysore. Experience of close to 8 years in Server System Management, Drivers, Firmware, Biometric systems, Windows & Linux Kernel components and beginner in ML/AI software building. Owns 2-Authorized and 7-Recognized patents with DELL EMC. Prior to Dell she has worked as intern at Intel and Mysore University CS R&D and as Systems Software Engineer at 'Hewlett Packard IPG R & D.

About Talk

With the advancement of technology and subsequently improvement of storage structures available today, huge amounts of data is generated through digital pictures and videos, purchase transaction records, sensors used to gather climate information, posts to social media, cell phone GPS signals, etc. Every day we create about 2.5 quintillion (i.e. 106 terabytes) bytes of data! It has been estimated that 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years only. In this talk we will be giving introduction to big data taking them through database management system by giving gist of Flat file, Relational and NoSQL database. Followed by deep walk-through about NoSQL database especially Column-Oriented and Graph database and respective framework and application/use cases.
