Sujith S has spent more than a decade building AI that solves real problems. He started in computer vision, working on face recognition, OCR, license plate recognition, and object detection, and in 2018 he co-founded AiBlocks India, which won an Innovation Grant from the Chief Minister of Kerala.
Today his focus is privacy-first AI. He believes powerful AI shouldn’t cost people control of their own data, and he builds in the open to prove it. His team’s MIT-licensed project Meetily is a self-hosted AI meeting assistant. It transcribes and summarizes meetings entirely on the user’s own machine, with no data sent to the cloud. Meetily has grown into one of the most popular open source AI projects out of India: 31.1k stars and 3.4k forks on GitHub. Its users include privacy-conscious professionals and organizations around the world in healthcare, legal, finance, and defense.
