About Speaker

Megha Mitra is an AI engineer and Tech Lead building health technology on open foundations. Through mytr.ai, they are developing an affordable diabetes and fitness companion ecosystem on the Raspberry Pi, drawing on the open-source diabetes-tech tradition of Nightscout, OpenAPS, and the #WeAreNotWaiting community. Their work spans real-time systems, embedded hardware, and open-weight AI on the edge. Alongside this, they built OCTina, an end-to-end open-source deep-learning pipeline for retinal disease classification. Based in Bengaluru, they are drawn to problems where careful engineering and open tools can make healthcare more accessible.
