Traditionally developers, especially enterprise developers, have been locked in into proprietary systems for their development environment with very little control. Over the past couple of years there has been a focused effort to make the developer experience on Ubuntu as friction-less as possible. And of course it is all open-source and free. These projects have built an end to end platform for developers, especially those developing for Hybrid Cloud. It encompasses enterprise application runtimes like Java, .NET, as well as developer favorites like Rust and Golang. And it is all open source, so you can contribute the enhancements you wish to see.
