WORKSHOP

The OpenRuntime for Coding Agents: Discover, Attribute, and Route Across Any Harness and Provider (WS08)

Date: 08 October 2026 | Time: 11:30-02:00 PM

Venue: Workshop Room 2, NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bangalore

FEES:
• Rs.99 for Leaders Pass holders

• Rs.899 for Community++ or Student Pass holders
• Rs.999 for all others
(Limited seats available)

Get hands-on visibility into the coding agents you already use. In this two to three-hour workshop, you’ll use Nasiko, an open-source project written in Rust, to discover coding agents on your laptop, inspect usage and cost attribution across models and sessions, and configure routing across supported model providers.

You’ll explore how discovery and routing work, what changes when routing is enabled, and how local visibility can extend to a shared team inventory. You’ll leave with a working local setup and a clear starting point for contributing to the project.

Benefits/Takeaways of this workshop for the attendees (What will attendees do after attending the workshop which they were not able to do before attending this)

  • After this workshop, attendees will be able to:
  • See, for the first time, a full inventory and observability of every coding agent running on their machine and exactly what each one costs; something most of them have never had visibility into
  • Compare spend across different harnesses and models in one place, instead of piecing it together from separate vendor bills that don’t reconcile
  • Route their own coding agent to a cheaper or better-fit model without touching their existing workflow, tools, or code
  • Explain the difference between a tool that can see agent activity and one that can enforce against it, and why that distinction matters when picking AI infra
  • Walk away with a working local Nasiko setup, not just slides
  • Know exactly how to make their first contribution to an open-source, Rust-based project, including specific open issues to pick up

A laptop (8GB+ RAM recommended) with Linux, macOS, or Windows-with-WSL2, and Docker installed (setup instructions shared before the session). Basic familiarity with digital logic (gates, flip-flops, RTL/Verilog) and comfort using a command-line terminal and Git. No proprietary EDA licences and no prior tapeout experience needed – all tools and PDKs used are free and open source. Optionally, clone github.com/rajaghv-dev/open-silicon-lab in advance to follow along.
